Hello,
Val.
I hope you’re keeping well, and that our dear friend, Art Knaggs is
managing his dementia satisfactorily. I think of you often, and I wonder how
you’re coping with his problem.
Now, I’ve run across this rather interesting video of a TED talk this
morning. Perhaps you know all about this approach to managing dementia already,
and if so, I’m sorry for wasting your time. But the idea itself is so unique
and interesting, that, for Art’s sake and yours, I thought I might share it
with you.
I hope you find it interesting. If you do, perhaps it might be a good
idea to propose something of this sort to your local community and political
representatives?
With every good wish and with God’s blessing.

Dear
Arthur
I have received this message from Nigel, can you help me???.
I was not fortunate in having been in your list for the OASIS
manuscripts, somehow my name was lost.
But as they say better late than never.
I would appreciate if you could give me your telephone number.
Arthur,
It was so good to contact you at last and to hear your voice.
As I was saying, Ladislao Kertesz in Venezuela (Class of 1960), ably
assisted by Anthony Johnson (Class of 1960), Don Mitchell (Class of 1963),
Roger Henderson (Class of 1960), Wayne Vincent Brown (Class of 1960) and
I'm-sure-some-others, has pioneered the Abbey School website and has had lots
of input from Old Boys around the globe.
I have recommended that one Arthur Knaggs should be given some sort of
Award of Honour or Memorable Mention or whatever for your excellent work over
the years to keep us all connected, through the "OASIS" magazine.
Perhaps now, Ladislao, you can talk directly to Arthur and get all the
info you want to flesh out this story.
(I'm sure that Arthur, like no other, would be only too pleased to fill
in a lot of the "missing links" of the early days at Mount.)
Las, I’ve spoken to Arthur today after searching for him for MANY
months, and he advises that he gets to see his e-mail messages only once /
twice a week when he visits his kids' homes, so don't worry too much if you
don't hear from him right away.
Arthur, once more, it was great speaking with you.
Please give me a call if you're ever visiting Toronto.
Best regards to you and Valerie.
With
love,
Nigel

Keep in touch.
Val & I are fine and keeping very well.
What are you up to these days, and where do you hang out?
As Always,
Art

Keith,
How the heck are you all down in the sun.
We are both fine, enjoying fine health, and having a great time.
What about you?
Retired Yet?
Am trying to get a hold of some Mount Old boys (and their E-mail
addresses) but I know Ray Decambra is Computer Challenged, and lost touch with
Anthony Lucky (is he still in the Royal Bk?)
Need to get a hold of someone from Mount, who has e-mail, and has some
contacts.
If you can help, i would be most grateful.
Give us a bit of an update on your life.
As ever,
Art

Cecil,
What
on Earth are you doing for Heaven's sake?
Haven't
had a peep out of you in years, and don't know when we will be coming down to
Bimshire.
Heard
that Thelly was due to be with you this week, but learnt that that it was
postponed and she will be there next week sometime.
Hope
you are both fine, frollicking in the new Year, and having a general ball.
Say
howdy to Scipio (next door) and the Mount Old Boys are trying to track down all
the Old Tyrants that roamed the hills at its conception, and you and Scipio, as
well as Jack, fit the bill, and you are all together. Ladislao is the prime mover, and by copy I am
asking him to put you on the mailing list, as they need some old stories from
way back. If you have Scipio's e-mail or any other Bajan Mount urchin, let us
know.
Jack
Knaggs can be got through Eve Browne.
Keep
smiling, and they will never know when you are in mischief.
Keep
me posted on Thelly, and teach her how to use the e-mail, she is a great typer.
As
always.

Happy New Year and all the very Best for 2004.
I have all my "Old Abbey School Interested Student"
files all bundled up and ready for posting, all I need is an address?!?!
I have some writing addresses of some of the real original Mount
"Oldies", but most of them are computer challenged, so no e-mail
addresses.
You guys are doing a magnificent and worthwhile adventure into
the History and Past of 'Our Old School", and don't forget our Priests and
Teachers who can contribute a great deal as well.
Fr Cuthbert may like to help.
As Ever,
Art

Dear Ladislao,
I've received your last e-mail concerning the future of the web-site and
must say I felt saddened by the news of the impending end to all the great
memories.
I'm also saddened to find that Gabby apparently does not wish to be
bothered by our telephone calls or e-mail messages any longer.
I believe he's simply over-worked, myself.
I had sent him an e-mail within the last 3 weeks and got no response
either.
Ah well.
As for Arthur Knaggs, I did speak to him many months ago and found out
that he does not own a computer.
He can therefore access messages only when he visits his children's
homes elsewhere in Nova Scotia.
I do have a little suggestion, though.
I happen to have preserved a number of Arthur's old O.A.S.I.S. files,
which he had been accustomed to send out to the old boys years ago, (O.S.S.I.S.
meant, "Overseas Abbey Students in Suspense" or something like that.)
I'd be very happy to send you these records, so I'm going to see what I
can do about that.
With the current state of things in Venezuela today, however, I'd be
concerned whether they'd even get to you.
What do you think?
Also, if you'd want to receive them, please let me have your mailing
address.
Keep up the good work. You're doing a fine job, and thanks for doing it.
